FY26 COMMUNITY PROJECT FUNDING

Congresswoman Pressley has submitted 15 funding requests for community projects in Massachusetts’ 7th Congressional District to the House Appropriations Committee.

Under guidelines issued by the Appropriations Committee, each Representative may request funding for up to 15 projects in Fiscal Year 2026 (FY2026). Projects are restricted to a limited number of federal funding streams, and only state and local governments and eligible non-profit entities are permitted to receive funding. Project name: Renovation of the Massachusetts Veterans Home in Chelsea, MA

Explanation of Request: This project would fully rehabilitate nine historic buildings and the addition of two new buildings with elevators, ensuring accessibility for veterans with mobility challenges and include over 240 housing units for veterans.

Project Name: Flood Mitigation in Affordable Housing in Boston

Project Name: Redevelopment of the Forbes Site in Chelsea

Project Name: Climate Corps Fellowship

Explanation of Request:  This funding would expand  Eastie Farm’s Climate Corps pilot program, an earn-to-learn fellowship in which  participants gain exposure to different green career pathways and develop skills to  prepare them for these careers, with a focus on coastal resiliency management and research.

Project Name: The Stable Housing and Reintegration Program (SHARP)

Project Name: Ozone Generators Replacement

Explanation of Request: The Ozone Generators that provide primary disinfection of our drinking water are over 23 years old and need to be replaced. The replacement of these generators for the City of Cambridge Water Department is a necessary upgrade/modification of a publicly owned water treatment facility to help maintain full regulatory compliance with all Federal and State Drinking Water Standards.  This upgrade will improve the finished water quality for all users of Cambridge water.

Project Name: Randolph Water Standpipe in Randolph, MA
