Disability rights are human rights.
On the 34th anniversary of the #AmericansWithDisabilitiesAct, I’m grateful for all the disability justice advocates working hard to build a more accessible country and Commonwealth.
A just America is possible and it is within our reach.
The closure of Carney Hospital is a damning reminder of Steward’s greed that will put lives at risk & worsen the public health crisis in Massachusetts.
There must be accountability. And we must ensure care remains accessible & Steward’s other facilities stay open.
My statement:
Yesterday I stood with advocates, faith leaders and constituents demanding an end to the Israeli military’s massacre of Palestinians.
The United States must stop sending bombs.
My full remarks:
We met with the families of Israeli hostages.
One of them, 10-year-old Leo, has my ticket to Netanyahu`s speech today.
We won`t stop fighting for a #CeasefireNOW so we can save lives and bring every hostage safely home to their families.
Sara is a brilliant artist & loving sister.
She was severely burned in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza. An airstrike that killed her two younger brothers.
No child should have to endure this brutality.
I’ll carry her & her family with me always as I press for peace in their name.
Congress is a sacred institution and we should never give this platform to a war criminal.
My focus tomorrow will be centering the experiences of those directly impacted by Israel`s ongoing war in Gaza, and advocating for policies that will save lives.
I will deliver a floor speech to share the story of a Palestinian family impacted by the war, renew my calls for a ceasefire in Gaza and offensive arms embargo, and meet with Israeli hostage families.
I will not be attending Prime Minister Netanyahu`s address.

The more time we wait on answers from Director Cheatle, the more oxygen Republicans have to spread dangerous misinformation that puts people in harm’s way.
