Since Day 1 of this administration, Trump and Republicans have been trying to gut our government, rip away essential healthcare, lay off our federal workforce, and cut the critical services that are a lifeline for our communities. They have continued to advance policies that make us all hungrier, poorer, sicker, and less safe.

And now, Republicans have shut down the government instead of coming to the table with Democrats to address the health care crisis that Republicans created. If Trump and Republicans don’t act to re-open the government, millions of people could see their healthcare costs soar and millions more could lose their healthcare entirely.

In the Massachusetts 7^th, 29,000 of our community members could see their health care costs rise and more than 35,000 will lose health care coverage.

The nearly 45,000 federal workers across Massachusetts – the most of whom reside in the Massachusetts 7^th – could miss paychecks or be driven out of their jobs, leaving communities without the essential services they provide.
