WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley (MA-07) joined host of AM Joy Joy Reid to discuss President Trump’s reckless declaration of a National Emergency. During the conversation, Congresswoman Pressley denounced the Trump Administration’s racist and anti-immigrant policies, stating: “I know a monument to hate is not going to keep us any safer.”

On Friday, in an exclusive interview with The Root, Congresswoman Pressley condemned the fake Trump emergency, affirming “[Donald Trump] has held the American worker, the American family, and our immigrant neighbors hostage.” On Thursday, Congresswoman Pressley issued a joint statement announcing her no vote on the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding bill, reasserting that DHS “does not deserve an increase in funding.”
