Trump Recently Pardoned 23 Perpetrators of Illegal Violence and Harassment at Abortion Clinics 

WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Diana DeGette (CO-01) and Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley (MA-07), Co-Chairs of the Reproductive Freedom Caucus, issued the following statement on the recent pardon of 23 perpetrators of illegal violence and harassment at abortion clinics: 

“Once again, Donald Trump has shown contempt for the laws of the land, issuing sweeping pardons for nearly two dozen people convicted of violently barricading reproductive health care clinics and harassing and even injuring clinic staff and patients. 

This behavior violates longstanding, bipartisan federal law. But this week has shown us that Donald Trump and his far-right allies support violent criminals when the crimes align with the president’s values.

The freedom to access an abortion clinic, safe from harassment, interference, violence, and intimidation has been protected for over 30 years. We have seen the deadly outcomes when that freedom is violated. 

As Donald Trump and the GOP try to again roll back the clock on our rights, we will never stop fighting for the safety and autonomy of abortion patients and providers and for the reproductive freedom of all people.”
