Illegal and Unconstitutional Act by Trump Will Harm Families in Massachusetts and Across the Country

BOSTON – Today, Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley (MA-07) issued a statement on the Trump Administration’s harmful and illegal freeze on federal grants and loans.

“This isn’t just an action that violates federal law and the Constitution—it is wholesale harm that could cost people their lives and livelihoods.

“What we know so far and have heard from community partners is damning. Life-saving cancer research grinding to a halt. Elders and low-income folks’ heating assistance threatened during the winter months. Federal funds impact every aspect of people’s daily lives across this country and here in the Massachusetts 7^th. 

“This type of cruelty from the Trump Administration and Republicans is unlawful and unconstitutional. It is not normal and it should not be normalized. This White House must reverse course immediately.”
