BOSTON – Today, Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley (MA-07) joined President Joe Biden in Boston for his remarks on the Cancer Moonshot initiative and to celebrate $62 million in new federal funding for Logan Airport. Congresswoman Pressley’s mother, Sandra Pressley, lost her longstanding battle with cancer in 2011.

“The Biden-Harris Administration has consistently shown their support for Massachusetts, and I was honored to welcome President Biden to Boston today,” said Congresswoman Pressley. “As the daughter of a brilliant mother who bravely battled cancer, I was deeply moved by the President’s remarks, his unrelenting commitment to ending cancer, and his humanity and candor. I was also pleased to join the President and our colleagues in government to celebrate new federal funding to modernize Logan Airport’s Terminal E, which will be an incredible asset for years to come and positively impacted the lives of workers, visitors, and residents alike.”

President Biden’s remarks on the Cancer Moonshot initiative took place at the John F. Kennedy Library and Museum and came on the 60th anniversary of President Kennedy’s “Moonshot” speech.

In July, Rep. Pressley and her colleagues in the Massachusetts announced that General Edward Lawrence Logan International Airport in Boston will receive $62 million in FY2022 funding from the FAA as a part of the Airport Terminals Program. Rep. Pressley delivered remarks at the event in which she celebrated the longstanding advocacy by her and her colleagues that resulted in the grant being awarded.
