WASHINGTON – Today, following the Senate’s vote to acquit Donald Trump on both articles of impeachment, Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley (MA-07) released the following statement:

“Today, Senate Republicans failed our democracy. The American people have been clear all along – a fair trial has witnesses and documents, following the facts in pursuit of the truth. What just transpired in the Senate was anything but a fair trial, it was a cover up coordinated by Mitch McConnell on behalf of the Occupant of the White House.  While this is a dark day, I have not lost faith in the resiliency of this nation. I find solace in the fact that Donald Trump is forever impeached by the United State House of Representatives. I’ll continue to fight to affirm equity and justice for all Americans and use Congress’s oversight power to address the rampant racism, misogyny, and xenophobia of this White House.”
