Rep. Ayanna Pressley announced Saturday a new caucus that will be formed on Capitol Hill, which aims to address the future of transportation.

WBZ NewsRadio’s Jim MacKay spoke with Congresswoman Pressley at a Town Hall event in Randolph, Mass. on Saturday about the caucus.

Pressley is co-creating the caucus with Rep. Mark Takano (D-Calif.) and Rep. Jesus Garcia (D-Ill.). It is set to focus on mass transit across the country, including how federal money is allocated.

According to Pressley, the current system is “antiquated and contributing to the inequities and disparities when it comes to access to affordable, reliable, and rapid transit.”

She said it is “possible” for this new caucus to influence the future of the MBTA, but they are still in the “early stages.”

Pressley also spoke about the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump at the Town Hall.

“We’re honoring our constitutional duty. This is unprecedented, not only the cruelty and corruption, but the stonewalling,” Pressley said.
