WASHIGNTON – Today, in response to the White House’s reckless decision to withdraw U.S. troops from Syria, Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley (MA-07) issued the following statement:

Recklessly withdrawing U.S. forces from Northern Syria and abandoning our Kurdish allies is calloused, dangerous and will have disastrous implications all over the world.  The fact that this Administration has no diplomatic plan to secure peace in the region and to protect our Kurdish allies is cruel and sickening. I extend my solidarity to the residents of my district gathering to hold vigil for their Kurdish relatives today. We can no longer tolerate this White House aligning with authoritarian leaders over American interests and our allies.
